We are seeking a Procurement Governance Process & Systems Lead to act as the central coordinator for procurement governance and assurance across all spend over $150K. In this role, you will work closely with procurement and contract management teams to ensure compliance, efficiency, and strategic sourcing outcomes. You will also lead a small team of two direct reports and collaborate closely with the Manager of Procurement to drive best-practice processes and continuous improvement. This position is based at our Head Office in Newstead. Key responsibilities of this role are Provide strategic leadership in procurement best practices to drive excellence across end-to-end procurement, including frameworks, services, systems, tools, templates, training, and advisory support. Lead and support the Procurement Governance and Systems team, setting clear expectations, promoting accountability, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. Lead and oversee the implementation of best-practice procurement governance to ensure compliance and efficiency. Maintain the NHVR procurement policy, procedure and template suite, ensuring all documentation is current, accurate, and fit for purpose. Support the ongoing management of the forward procurement plan, ensuring alignment with the Procurement Pipeline and align with organisational priorities and strategic initiatives. Educate business unit stakeholders on procurement processes, systems, governance requirements and budget alignment to support informed decision-making. Deliver assurance checks to maintain governance, enable early issue identification, and drive rectification. Act as a point of escalation for significant procurement governance and risk-related stakeholder issues. Lead audits and reviews of procurement processes to identify risks, gaps, and areas for improvement. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to promote procurement best practices, identify business improvement opportunities, and ensure positive collaboration. Provide expert advice and guidance on legislative requirements, procurement policies and compliance obligations. Lead end-to-end management, optimisation and continuous improvement of procurement systems, including user onboarding, process configuration, workflow efficiency, reporting, and system enhancements, ensuring they support compliance and effective governance. Deliver assurance checks and audits to maintain governance and identify risks Act as a key escalation point for procurement-related governance and risk issues Provide expert advice on legislative and policy compliance Drive transformation and innovation initiatives to improve procurement systems and processes Support high-risk procurement activities and negotiations Collaborate across teams to align procurement initiatives and uplift capability Report on performance metrics and progress to senior leadership About You To be successful in this role you will possess Minimum 10 years’ experience in a procurement leadership role Strong background in governance, systems implementation, and process improvement Demonstrated ability to lead in complex and evolving environments Deep understanding of government procurement policies and compliance frameworks Exceptional stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills Qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Law or MCIPS accreditation (highly regarded) Why join us?
