About the Role:
With a range of multi-faceted kitchens and diverse dining experiences on-site, we're always looking for passionate chefs to join our team and elevate our culinary offerings.
In this role, at Yamagen Japanese restaurant, you'll work alongside Adam Lane to help manage a section of the kitchen operation, ensuring that food preparation and service meet the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
Maintaining impeccable hygiene standards and practices across the kitchen.
Training, mentoring, and developing junior kitchen staff to foster a culture of excellence.
Overseeing the preparation and presentation of food to meet the expectations of our diverse clientele.
Collaborating with the team across our multifaceted kitchens to ensure smooth operations during peak times and special events.
This is a full-time opportunity for a passionate chef eager to take on a new challenge and progress within a fast-paced, high-energy hotel environment.

Skills & Experience
Passion for excellence and great attention to detail in every dish you create.
2–3 years' experience working in fast-paced kitchens, ideally within Asian/Japanese restaurants of a similar quality.
Solid experience in high-quality restaurant operations – quality is what we strive for.
Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with your peers.
Strong organization and problem-solving skills to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Solid understanding of food cost and production processes, with a focus on maximizing efficiency and minimizing waste.
Trade cooking qualifications (Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery) are essential.
A strong leadership style and work ethic, with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
