Description:
We're hiring a Senior Port Development Engineer in Australia to lead planning and design for ports, terminals, marinas, and cruise facilities.
This role blends technical expertise with business development. You'll bring your own network, shape strategy, and join our international leadership team driving innovation in maritime infrastructure.

* Collaborate with Engineering Business Unit Leaders and International Practice Leaders to drive growth strategy and expand client networks across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region
* Lead proposal development by assembling the right team and technical approach to meet client needs
* Develop and execute strategic plans to promote Moffatt & Nichol's full suite of services
* Oversee planning, analysis, and design of port cargo facilities, marinas, waterfronts, and cruise terminals—with a focus on super-mega yacht infrastructure
* Build and manage client relationships specific to the Australian maritime market
* Create valuation systems for existing marinas and develop marine market analysis tools
* Conduct due diligence for container terminals, marinas, and cruise facilities in collaboration with Waterfront Destination and Cruise teams in Oceania
* Manage programs including design oversight, cost estimating, contracting, and quality assurance
* Work closely with global teams including:
* European Marina/Port Planning & Design
* East & West Coast Waterfront Destination & Cruise Planning
* Commercial & Economics Group
* Business Development Team
* Occasional international travel required
Profile:
* Chartered Engineer (CPEng or equivalent)
* Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
* 15+ years of experience in container terminal design and delivery, port and maritime infrastructure projects.
* Proven expertise in master planning, operational design, and capital project leadership.
* Demonstrated success leading complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure programs from concept to commissioning.
* Strong track record in business development and client relationship management.
* Experience across container terminals, general/bulk cargo terminals, naval/defense infrastructure, and/or offshore wind projects.
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Australian citizenship or permanent residency preferred
