Job Title: Mechanic - Port Services Maintenance
Aurizon is Australia's largest rail freight operator, moving over 250 million tonnes of commodities annually. As a mechanic in this role, you will maintain and repair mobile plant assets.
About the Role
* Maintain and repair mobile plant assets, ensuring their safety, reliability, and efficiency as part of a structured maintenance program.
* Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance on port mobile plant and infrastructure.
* Diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical faults and breakdowns.
* Conduct risk assessments and adhere to WH&S procedures.
* Scope maintenance work and prioritize tasks with planners.
* Be available on-call for urgent breakdowns as required.
* Input accurate data into asset management systems.
* Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes and asset reliability.
About You
* Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical or equivalent (Mandatory).
* Mechanical trade experience (Preferred).
* Auto electrical diagnostic skills (Preferred).
* Crane industry experience (Preferred).
* Experience in heavy diesel service, mechanical maintenance, and fault diagnostics.
* Ability to obtain Maritime Safety Identification Card (MSIC).
* Demonstrated computer and software skills (SAP experience highly regarded).
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Commitment to safety and compliance with WH&S standards.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work with planners and supervisors.
* C Class driver's licence (unrestricted or provisional).
