The role
Join Dementia Support Australia’s Staying at Home Program and help improve the lives of people living with dementia and their carers. This post-diagnostic program offers education, engagement, and support through immersive retreats and online sessions.
As a Dementia Consultant, you’ll play a key role in delivering and enhancing the program—conducting client screenings and assessments, facilitating carer sessions, supporting engagement activities, and contributing to continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with a dedicated team to ensure meaningful outcomes, adapting to the diverse needs of clients with a compassionate and flexible approach.
This role involves interstate travel for program delivery and stakeholder engagement and requires someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities while maintaining a strong focus on person-centred care.
This role is offered as a Fixed Term Contract until March 2028. This role can be based out of numerous locations across NSW, VIC or TAS!

Responsibilities
Assess client suitability for the Staying at Home (SAH) program via phone, Telehealth, or onsite assessments as needed. Deliver services via phone, Telehealth, face-to-face, or email in line with DSA’s psychosocial case management principles. Escalate uncertain client cases to the line manager for review. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and data in the CRM system, ensuring confidentiality and data security. Collaborate with DSA Medical Specialists to access expertise and enhance client outcomes. Contribute to the team’s quality framework through feedback and continuous improvement initiatives. Support best practice in dementia care by participating in clinical forums, meetings, and working groups. Actively pursue professional development through the annual Contribution and Career Conversation (CACC) process. Undertake additional projects or assignments aligned with your skills and expertise. Prioritise exceptional client service, ensuring all participants receive support aligned with the core principles of the SAH program.
What do we need from you?
Experience in Australian health, hospitals or aged care (community or residential). Knowledge of the types of dementia, their presentation, and strategies to manage behaviour changes.  Excellent problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills. Be relatable and able to share knowledge in a way that support change at all levels  Able to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Great written communication and report-writing skills.  Comfortable working with databases and online client management systems.  A current Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel, including regional and overnight travel. Enjoy working autonomously with the support of network of experts  Qualifications in Allied Health, Nursing, Aged Care, Dementia or Mental Health (highly desirable).
