Deputy Director Domain Awareness & SIGINT Support (DASS) Analysis and Production
The Domain Awareness and SIGINT Support Section (DASS) is a 24/7 operations area responsible for delivering domain awareness, indications, warnings and in depth analysis on key areas of interest in support of the ADF and allied operations. This role leads a large team comprised of ADF personnel and ASD civilians in analysis and production within the Domain Awareness and SIGINT Support Section (DASS). The position works to the Executive Director DASS and closely with the Deputy Director Time Sensitive Operations to coordinate production and analysis efforts in support of ADF and allied operations, meeting broader Defence and Government intelligence priorities. This role requires strong prioritisation, customer engagement and people management skills. Experience in leading intelligence analysis and production teams is highly desirable.
Director Special Ops and Contingency Team (SOAC)
This role leads a small team comprised of ADF and ASD civilians that has three key roles for ASD-ADF integration, reporting directly to Assistant Director General of Military Expeditionary. Firstly, the team conducts analysis and production efforts in support of ADF Special Operations. Secondly, this role will lead MX Branch responses to out of area crisis, coordinating contingency efforts and directing analysis and production efforts in response to these events. Thirdly, this role leads on integrating ASD and ADF activities as a federated enterprise, coordinating closely with Headquarters Joint Operations Command, ADF SIGINT units, and ASD policy, capability and target teams. This role requires strong decision-making, prioritisation, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Deputy Director Domain Awareness & SIGINT Support (DASS) - Time Sensitive Operations (TSO)
This role leads a large team comprised of Australian Defence Force personnel and ASD civilians to deliver time sensitive intelligence in support of ADF and Allied operations. The role is responsible for managing 24/7 support to domain awareness, indications and warning and tailored support to deployed assets. This dynamic and fast-paced role requires the ability to provide clear direction, reallocate resources in response to operational requirements. The successful applicant will possess strong communication skills for customer and stakeholder engagement.
Key Duties:
Accountable for managing and leading a team, including providing clear and consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance, delegating responsibility and guiding and developing people.
Accountable for managing allocated resources, setting work area priorities, workflows, developing strategies and evaluating business outcomes.
Direct and oversee the development of signals intelligence analysis or production and provide guidance across the signals intelligence enterprise.
Accountable for the production of signals intelligence, complying with legislative, policy, security frameworks, and the signals intelligence production standards.
Understand and direct the development of business process for the production of signals intelligence.
Represent the Australian Signals Directorate and work collaboratively with stakeholders to manage expectations, provide advice and influence outcomes.
Assess and endorse recommendations to further collection, processing and analysis to support future mission outcomes.

About our Team
Military Expeditionary Branch is a multi-disciplinary, integrated workforce that conducts in-depth signals intelligence analysis and production in support of the ADF and the Australian Government. The Branch conducts one of the oldest missions in ASD, safeguarding ADF personnel on the ground, in the air and at sea. The team comprises of highly skilled ADF and civilian professionals providing support to military operations within a dynamic and time sensitive environment.
Positions are available across multiple teams within MX Branch. Successful candidates may be considered for similar positions within Signals Intelligence & Effects Group (SI&E).

Successful candidates will:
Work with considerable independence to achieve complex research, analysis and operational work within an integrated workforce.
Work according to the Intelligence Services Act 2001 and possess extensive knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and the Australian Signals Directorate's mission and policies requirements.
Influence and develop strategies, policies, priorities and operational practices in support of the Australian Signals Directorate objectives.
Provide strategic advice to senior management and stakeholders, as well as lead and assume accountability for very complex work, sensitive projects or work programs that have strategic, political or operational significance.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with a network of stakeholders internally and externally.
Possess strong leadership and organisational skills to lead a work team, including the planning and management of range of human and physical resources.
Possess the ability to supervise and motivate a team while making well reasoned risk managed decisions in a timely manner.
