Maintenance Fitter Role
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our team in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment in a variety of settings, including agricultural, production, refrigeration, coal fired boiler and rendering.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preventative and breakdown maintenance activities with a strong focus on preventative approach.
* Contribution of ideas and input to improved systems procedures and maintenance.
* Engage with the production team to optimise the performance of all equipment on a daily basis.
* Assist in capital and continuous improvement projects as directed.
* Maintain a strong focus on health and safety.
* Understand the urgent nature of the business and manage competing priorities.
* Prioritise urgent repairs of equipment.
* Understand the importance of troubleshooting and problem solving.
* Coordinate and collaborate with contractors as well as other departments regarding reliable maintenance of the various sections of the plant.
Requirements:
* Trade qualifications – Certificate III in Engineering as a minimum.
* Experience in Maintenance Fitter or Fitter-Mechanic role in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and great diagnostics for fault finding.
* Reliable motivated self-starter.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent time management skills and communication skills.
* Experience with beef slaughter equipment highly regarded.
* Associated downstream offal and rendering plant and equipment experience highly regarded.
* Downstream processing experience including boning chilling packaging labelling and transfer systems highly regarded.
* Unlimited working rights within Australia.
* Driver's licence and reliable vehicle or reliable means of getting to work.
* Vaccinated (or willing to be) against Q Fever.
