The Role
We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer, Parts Interpreter or Storeperson to join our Team. This is a hands-on role that bridges between purchasing, inventory control, and production support. Working closely with our stores, engineering, and production teams, you'll ensure that the right materials, parts, and consumables are on hand to keep jobs moving and customers supported.
Key Responsibilities
* Source and order parts, raw materials, and consumables to meet production and spare parts needs.
* Interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and job cards to identify correct parts and ensure accuracy.
* Maintain supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and monitor lead times.
* Manage purchase orders, receipts, and stock levels through our ERP system (Eci M1).
* Support customers with technical knowledge and spare parts sales.
* Assist with organising and maintaining the stores system, ensuring parts are clearly identified and accessible.
* Coordinate with production teams to resolve material or supply issues quickly.
* Help prepare picks for jobs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
About You
* Experience as a parts interpreter, purchasing officer, or storeperson (manufacturing, automotive, or transport industry background highly regarded).
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and BOMs.
* Strong communication and supplier liaison skills.
* Familiarity with ERP systems (Eci M1 experience highly valued).
* Organised and detail-focused, with the ability to prioritise multiple requests.
* Team-oriented and willing to jump in where needed to support production.
