The Business:

Our client is a multi-discipline planning and engagement consultancy which leads by a values first ethos. Boutique in size but punching above their weight when it comes to project complexities, this business has grown a wonderful reputation since existence.

About the Opportunity:

This role would sit in the engagement team with a large focus on authoring and delivering social impact assessments in conjunction with the broader engagement and environmental planning teams. You'd expect to be working on projects in the renewable energy, water and infrastructure space.

Key Responsibilities:

* Social Impact Assessment (SIA): Conduct primary and secondary research, including socio-economic baseline studies, demographic analysis, and literature reviews, to inform comprehensive SIA and Social Impact Management Plans (SIMPs).
* Stakeholder and Community Engagement: Design and facilitate meaningful engagement activities (workshops, focus groups, interviews) with local communities, First Nations groups, and government stakeholders.
* Data Analysis: Utilise both quantitative (surveys, census data) and qualitative (interview transcripts) data to identify potential project impacts and inform mitigation strategies.
* Report Authoring: Prepare high-quality, technically rigorous, and policy-compliant reports for statutory approvals, including Environmental Effects Statements (EES) and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).
* Project Delivery: Manage assigned project tasks, timelines, and budgets under the guidance of a Director, ensuring deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and ethical practice.

About You:

* You possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Sciences, Urban Planning, Public Policy, Community Development, or a related discipline.
* You have 3–6 years of professional experience in a consulting, government, or similar project-based environment, with direct exposure to community engagement or social research.
* A solid understanding of the principles of Social Impact Assessment (SIA)
* Highly proficient in conducting qualitative research (interviewing, facilitation) and synthesising complex social data into clear, strategic advice.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to draft high-calibre technical reports for diverse audiences.
* You are a proactive, solutions-focused team player comfortable managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
