About the business and the role
Sydney Harbour Attractions operates a variety of marine tourism brands on Sydney Harbour and is seeking additional skippers to join our dynamic team. Our core brands include Thunder Jet and Harbour Jet, Darling Harbour Water Taxis & Platinum Cruises along with new cruise products coming soon.
The successful applicant should have sound experience in boat handling and previous jet boating experience would be an advantage but not essential as comprehensive training is provided.
The position involves skippering the company vessels on Sydney Harbour. The skipper must have a commitment to safety and an understanding of excellent customer service. General knowledge of engines and marine mechanics is desirable.
Along with skippering the vessels, the skipper offers fun and light-hearted commentary about the sights of Sydney Harbour and must demonstrate excellent communication skills.
The position will commence as a casual role working up to 38 hours per week.
Job tasks and responsibilities
Complete daily safety checks of the vessel, engines and equipment.
Basic maintenance duties and repairs with maintenance crews as required.
Complete daily Pre start / closed down documents
Customer service and care.
Follow company procedures and policies.
Safe boarding / disembarking of passengers.
Safely operate the vessels on Sydney Harbour.
Bring an amazing personality and FUN to the business.
Skills and experience
Jet Boating - The minimum qualification is a current Coxswain & Marine Engine Driver 3
Water Taxis - The minimum qualification is a current Coxswain
Platinum Cruises - The minimum qualification is a current Master < 24 & Marine Engine Driver 3
Current 1st Aid Certificate required for all roles.
