Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Category Manager required for a medical manufacturing organisation Role OverviewThis is a high-impact, operational role focused on supplier management, quality resolution, and procurement execution during a critical period of change. Youll be instrumental in supporting the ERP implementation and new product introduction, working closely with engineering, supply chain, and international suppliers. Key Responsibilities Manage procurement activities related to mechanical components for medical devices. Support ERP system implementation across procurement, supply planning, and supply chain functions. Lead supplier relationship management, including quality issue resolution and performance monitoring. Participate in daily 9am production meetings to address engineering and procurement issues. Communicate commercial and customer impacts of supply issues and provide actionable recommendations. Coordinate with international suppliers and internal stakeholders Contribute to the successful launch of a new medical device in Q2/Q3. Operate in a hands-on capacitythis is not a strategic role for the first 1218 months. What Were Looking For 35 years experience in procurement or category management, ideally in a highly regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, manufacturing, automotive). Strong mechanical engineering or Manufacturing background or experience with mechanical components. Proven ability to solve problems under pressureno sugar-coating, just solutions. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities. Excellent communication skills to manage cross-functional and international relationships. Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to hit the ground running. Desirable Experience Background in companies like Cochlear, ResMed, or other medical device manufacturers beneficial.
