On behalf of a large Federal Government Agency, we are seeking an experienced HR professional with strong investigations and case management expertise to join a high-performing team managing complex workplace matters in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
This is a daily rate contract through to December 2026 and can be based in any major Australian city.
As EL1 Assistant Director – Workplace Integrity, you will provide expert advice on APS HR legislation, including the Public Service Act 1999, and relevant Enterprise Agreements. You will lead complex Code of Conduct investigations, manage primary and secondary Reviews of Action, and oversee external jurisdiction matters in collaboration with Legal Services. Working with a high level of autonomy, you will undertake risk assessments, make sound and defensible decisions, analyse case data, and deliver strategic reporting to senior executives to inform people management outcomes. This is a key role contributing to workplace integrity and high-quality people management practices within a complex public sector environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead Code of Conduct investigations and case management activities
* Manage primary and secondary Reviews of Action
* Conduct risk assessments and provide strategic HR advice
* Oversee external jurisdiction matters
* Contribute to the review and development of People & Culture policies
* Analyse, report on and interpret case trends and metrics
To be considered, you will demonstrate:
* Extensive investigations and case management experience
* Strong knowledge of APS HR legislation and policy frameworks
* Excellent analytical, risk management and report writing capabilities
* Confidence in managing sensitive and complex matters
* High ethical standards and strong stakeholder engagement skills
* Certificate IV in Government Investigations (desirable)
