Lead transformational initiatives in Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) with an emphasis on high-risk activities and mental health, aimed at minimising and preventing workplace injuries and illnesses.
Support the correct use of risk and incident management processes, conduct assurance activities, support change management, and oversee the execution of HSW projects to enhance overall HSW outcomes.TasWater has a workforce of over 950 employees delivering water and sewerage services to more than 460,000 customers daily, with a bold vision to unlock water's full potential for Tasmania's communities, workplace and economy.
The role supports the organisation's HSW management system and operational procedures to ensure risk management, performance improvement, and compliance with legal and business requirements.ResponsibilitiesLead transformational initiatives in Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) with an emphasis on high-risk activities and mental health.Support the correct use of risk and incident management processes, conduct assurance activities, support change management, and oversee the execution of HSW projects to enhance HSW outcomes.Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the organisation's HSW management system and operational procedures to ensure risk management, performance improvement and legal/business compliance.Oversee risk and incident management processes to identify hazards and ensure timely mitigation.Facilitate risk assessments, incident investigations and performance reviews.Conduct assurance activities to monitor compliance and effectiveness of HSW programs.Collaborate with the Manager to monitor, analyze and report HSW performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement in line with business goals and benchmarks.Qualifications and ExperienceTertiary qualifications in HSW, occupational hygiene, chemistry, project management or related fields, or demonstrated equivalent experience.Significant experience in high-risk environments (utilities, mining, energy, construction, aviation) including contractor relationships, to identify, manage and mitigate HSW risks.Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.Experience supporting the use and improvement of H&S; management systems and related tools.Experience working with cross-functional teams to integrate safety into all activities.DetailsThis role can be based in Hobart, Launceston, or Devonport and attracts a salary of $131,265 - $145,850 (inclusive of superannuation), negotiable depending on experience.Ready to apply?
