Liverpool / Fairfield Community Mental Health Services are re‑advertising for a Senior Aboriginal Health Worker to support Aboriginal infants, children, young people, adults and their families accessing mental health care.Working across our community mental health teams, you will walk alongside individuals and families to help them navigate mental health systems in culturally safe, family‑centred, and trauma‑informed ways. A key part of the role is supporting engagement with services and ensuring continuity of care back into community. You will also contribute cultural knowledge to care planning, strengthen culturally responsive practice across teams, and build strong partnerships with Aboriginal organisations and community services to support social and emotional wellbeing.

You are committed to culturally safe, holistic support for Aboriginal people accessing community mental health services.
You:
* Provide culturally informed, recovery‑focused support to individuals and families.
* Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
* Promote mental health awareness, early intervention, and community engagement.
* Maintain strong relationships with Aboriginal Medical Services and community organisations.
* Support families to connect with ongoing community services after mental health care.
* Share your knowledge to strengthen cultural responsiveness and support fellow Aboriginal Health Workers.

Selection Criteria

* In this role being an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is a genuine occupational requirement. Tell us about your mob and connection to culture?
* Willingness and ability to complete further education in Mental Health or relevant qualification (refer to position description)?
* Describe a time you supported Aboriginal individuals, families, or communities in a culturally safe way. How did you incorporate cultural perspectives within mental health care, work with others, and follow appropriate processes?
* Tell us how you have engaged with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders to promote mental health awareness, improve access to culturally appropriate services, and support culturally responsive care within clinical or service settings.
* Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted
