Your Role at St John of God Midland Private Hospital

Be part of something exceptional from the very beginning. As we prepare to open a brand-new state‐of‐the‐art private hospital this August, we are seeking passionate and experienced Clinical Educators to help shape clinical excellence across our services. We are currently recruiting for educators in Critical Care, Day Surgery and Cardiac Cath Lab to commence 29th June 2026.

The Clinical Educator plays a critical role in the professional development of all caregivers at their hospital/service, working collaboratively with the Learning and Development Coordinator, department managers and caregivers.

The role is responsible for the delivery, implementation, assessment and evaluation of Learning and Development programs (including Graduate Programs) and activities that reflect best practice standards to achieve excellence in service.

About The New Midland Private Hospital

* A brand‐new purpose‐built state‐of‐the‐art facility, currently under construction, located just 300 metres from the St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals Campus.
* A comprehensive range of medical and surgical services, with interventional cardiology being offered for the first time in the region

The hospital will feature:

* 96 overnight inpatient beds, including a six‐bed critical care/high dependency unit
* 33 bed/chair short stay and day procedure unit
* Eight operating theatres
* A Cardiac Cath Lab

The Position

* Support and provide guidance to caregivers (including graduates) to meet individual learning and development goals and achieve departmental objectives.
* In collaboration with the caregiver's manager, support them to address learning gaps, and meet performance development goals and plans.
* Collaborate with Department Managers, other learning and development caregivers and relevant key stakeholders to support learning and development activities locally.
* Support an interprofessional approach to the delivery, assessment and evaluation of learning for all caregivers, promoting a positive and inclusive workplace learning environment.
* Support the use of standardised, best practice tools, frameworks and guidelines to deliver, assess and evaluate learning activities.
* In collaboration with the Learning and Development Coordinator, identify individual, local and organisational learning needs through a learning needs analysis process.
* Provide mentoring, coaching and support to caregivers through experiential learning and assist other members of the team to undertake the same.
* As directed by the Learning and Development Coordinator, use the Learning Management System to create learning events and record completions to meet individual professional development, local hospital/service and organisational compliance and risk requirements.
* In collaboration with the Learning and Development Coordinator, and other key stakeholders, support the planning, onboarding, delivery and evaluation of the Pathways to Practice Graduate Programs and Pathway to Speciality Programs.
* In collaboration with the Learning and Development Coordinator, support the planning and supervision of student placements and support evaluation activities (undergraduate and postgraduate) as directed.
* Assists with orientation/induction as required.
* Acts as a mentor/support/role model to all caregivers promoting best practice principles.
* Supports a life‐long learning approach to support caregivers to be self‐directed and use reflective practice.
* Promotes in‐time learning in the workplace offering opportunities for practical application of knowledge and skills.

All other reasonable duties as directed by the relevant Manager/Supervisor.

You will have current registration as a Health Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). You will have well developed time management and organisational skills and understanding and experience of application of adult learning principles.

To succeed you will have experience working with Learning Management Systems and the range of MS Office packages. You will also have the ability to motivate, support and encourage caregivers to further develop professionally.

* Salary: $109,599 to $115,682 (pro‐rata for part time), plus 12% superannuation
* Part time positions available:
* Critical Care Unit 0.4 FTE
* Day Surgery Unit 0.2 FTE
* Cath Lab 0.2 FTE
