OSSEM is an Orthopaedic surgery based in Springfield Central. Our team currently consists of one Orthopaedic surgeon (Dr Michael Reid) and a nurse, with the view to adding more surgeons to our team later this year. Dr Michael Reid is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in knee, hip, sports injuries, and trauma. He excels in lower limb arthroscopy, sports injuries, and knee and hip joint replacement. Our passionate team of medical professionals and support staff work collaboratively to deliver exceptional patient-centered care.
About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the OSSEM team as a Lead Medical Administration /Receptionist. In this full-time role based in Springfield Central, you will be responsible for leading the administrative operations of our busy medical practice. You will be based on the front desk with the other receptionist. You will be required to travel to Brisbane Private Hospital (in Spring Hill) when Dr Michael Reid has a clinic day there. With your strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise, you will ensure the smooth running of our front-of-house and back-office functions.
What you'll be doing
* Overseeing the administrative staff and processes to deliver a high-quality service to our patients
* Patient meet and greet
* Answering phones
* Managing patient bookings using Xestro software, records and information systems to optimise efficiency
* Patient surgical quotes and bookings
* Maintaining compliance with all relevant medical administration regulations and requirements
* Implementing and monitoring administrative policies and procedures
* Analysing data and reporting on key performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
* Supporting the Practice Manager and clinical team with administrative tasks as required
* Fostering a positive, patient-centric culture within the administration team
What we're looking for
* Significant experience in a senior medical administration or practice management role
* Excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise with patients, clinicians and staff
* Proficient in the use of medical administration software and information systems
* Sound knowledge of relevant medical administration regulations and compliance requirements
* Ability to work well independently and as part of a collaborative team
