With a loyal customer base and growing reputation, we are looking for a talented Cook to join our team and bring passion and skill to our kitchen.
The Role As a Cook at Indian Affair, you'll be hands-on in preparing and presenting a wide range of authentic Indian dishes.
You'll work alongside experienced chef, support daily kitchen operations, and make sure our guests enjoy a consistently high-quality dining experience.
Key Responsibilities ·Prepare, cook, and present a variety of Indian dishes to restaurant standards ·Assist with spice blends, sauces, breads, curries, and tandoor items ·Operate and maintain commercial kitchen equipment, including tandoor ovens ·Ensure quality, consistency, and portion control during service ·Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety ·Support stock management, ingredient rotation, and minimising waste ·Keep the kitchen clean, efficient, and well-organised ·Guide and support kitchen hands or junior staff when needed What We're Looking For Essential: ·Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification) ·1–2 years' experience in a commercial kitchen ·Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine – curries, biryani, tandoori, breads ·Ability to work under pressure in a busy service environment ·Solid understanding of food hygiene and safety standards ·A team player with good communication skills Highly Regarded: ·Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or Commercial Cookery ·Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management ·Previous experience in Indian restaurants in Australia or overseas ·Creativity and passion for authentic cooking traditions Why Join Us?
