 
        
        Offshore Hybrid Renewable Energy Systems (OHRES) PhD Opportunity 
Griffith University is seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join a cutting-edge research initiative focused on Offshore Hybrid Renewable Energy Systems (OHRES). The project aims to develop an innovative GIS-based spatial decision-support tool to autonomously identify optimal offshore locations for renewable energy system deployment. 
This tool will assist energy planners and system managers in making informed, visual, and data-driven decisions. The research is primarily desk-based but will involve meaningful collaboration with leading industry partners including CSIRO, Pitt & Sherry, and the Blue Economy CRC. 
Project Title: Market-Driven Site Selection and System Integration In partnership with the Blue Economy CRC 
Industry Collaboration & Support 
The project is part of the Blue Economy Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) program and will be conducted in partnership with: 
- Griffith University’s School of Engineering and Built Environment 
- CSIRO 
- Pitt & Sherry 
- Blue Economy CRC 
The selected candidate will be based at Griffith University’s Gold Coast campus and integrated into a dynamic, multidisciplinary research team affiliated with a relevant centre or institute. 
About You 
We’re looking for a candidate who is: 
- Passionate about renewable energy, spatial analysis, and GIS 
- Capable of conducting independent, desk-based research 
- A strong collaborator, able to work effectively with academic and industry partners 
- Interested in contributing to the future of sustainable offshore energy systems
