What You Can Expect In This Role
Your role within Corporate Services will support the department to build and maintain a robust database environment which supports the applications used by those in the Department and Queensland people. The work you will do helps someone every day, and that means the world to us.
As the Senior Database Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining a fleet of database servers and ensuring all databases and data warehouse/business intelligence services are consistently maintained and supported. In addition, you will be responsible for providing expert advice for maintenance of those servers and services as per the Department's strategic direction.
What You Will Be Doing
* Manage operational planning and service delivery to achieve business outcomes in accordance to Service level Agreement.
* Provide leadership, guidance and technical coaching and mentoring to the team and development staff.
* Design, Develop and administer business application databases including Windows scripting programming tasks.
* Maintain and optimise database performance and security by fault diagnosis, tuning, monitoring and managing capacity.
* Provide technical advice on complex support and system design issues pertaining to the database environment.
* Monitor recent industry development and trends, and assist in the evaluation of new technology.
* Assist with the database development of standards, procedures and policies in compliant to HPW's enterprise architecture.
* Perform out-of-hours and on-call database administration work as required.
