Salary: AUD 75,000- AUD 85,000
Full Time Position; Approximately 38 hours per week.
We are currently seeking multiple skilled Chefs to join our dynamic team at Rich Mahal located at Shepparton Victoria. Ideal candidates will have experience in the culinary industry and possess a passion for delivering delicious and high-quality dishes. This role involves a range of responsibilities centered around food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality, especially according to Australian standards and quality requirements.
* Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment used in preparation of Indian dishes.
* Preparing and cooking food from their menu categories.
* Seasoning food during cooking to achieve the authentic flavors of Indian and Indo-Chinese cuisine including Nepalese.
* Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces, and garnishes.
* Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities to maintain freshness and quality for all their offerings.
* Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements, as needed, for their diverse menu.
* Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their range of Indian dishes.
* Train other junior kitchen staff and apprentices in the completion of their duties.
Qualifications and Skills:
A minimum of one years of culinary experience.
Thorough understanding of health and safety standards in the kitchen, including food handling and sanitation practices.
Proficient in culinary techniques and adept in operating kitchen equipment and tools.
Meticulous in food preparation and presentation, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality dishes.
Capable of interpreting recipes and menu plans accurately and creatively.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented kitchen environment.
Good physical stamina, capable of working in a fast-paced kitchen and standing for long hours.
