An established and growing building contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their Projects & Minor Works team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys managing multiple projects, and has strong technical knowledge across building systems.
The Role You will be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering building maintenance and minor works projects safely, on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing projects from tender handover through to completion
* Working closely with estimators to develop methodologies and programmes
* Scheduling internal labour, subcontractors, materials and deliveries
* Managing variations, contractor negotiations and client communication
* Creating and approving purchase orders and invoices
* Overseeing defect rectification and non-conformance management
* Monitoring project progress, risks and cost performance
* Ensuring compliance with WHS regulations and relevant building codes
* Conducting site inspections and quality assurance checks
* Preparing handover documentation
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A trade qualification in building/construction or strong relevant industry experience
* Previous project management experience within building maintenance, construction or related sectors
* Experience supervising subcontractors and internal teams
* Solid knowledge of WHS and compliance requirements
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software (MS Project, AroFlo or similar)
* Strong communication, negotiation and organisational skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
