Job Description
Electronic Security Technician - QLD/NT
Securitas Electronic Security is expanding across Queensland and the Northern Territory and seeking an experienced and motivated Electronic Security Technician who wants to be part of a growing, forward-thinking team.
This is a hands-on technical role where you'll work across diverse client environments, delivering end-to-end electronic security solutions. You'll be involved in installation, commissioning, servicing, and ongoing support of integrated security systems, ensuring our clients receive reliable, high-quality outcomes.
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical capability with a professional, customer-focused approach -someone who understands that the quality of their work directly impacts safety and trust.
Key Responsibilities
* Installing, commissioning, upgrading and life cycle maintenance of electronic security systems including:
* P-based CCTV and Video Management Systems
* Access Control systems (standalone and integrated platforms)
* Perimeter detection systems, including radar and network technology
* Working with industry-leading security products and technologies across commercial, industrial, and critical infrastructure sites
* Diagnosing faults, performing preventative maintenance, and responding to service calls efficiently and effectively
* Interpreting drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
* Liaising directly with clients and project stakeholders to deliver professional, timely outcomes
* Ensuring all works comply with WHS requirements, company procedures, and industry standards
Desired Skills And Experience
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in the electronic security industry.
* High Competency with Security products such as; Gallagher, Milestone, Genetec Avigilon and Axis.
* Current State Security Licence
* Valid Australian Driver's Licence
* Cabling registration with endorsements
* White Card and current National Police Clearance
* Certifications in Access Control or IP Video Management (advantageous)
* If you're an experienced Electronic Security Technician who is confident working independently in the field, while also collaborating closely with a wider team. You take pride in your workmanship and understand the importance of documentation, compliance, and customer service.
Essential Experience & Requirements
* Proven experience in the electronic security industry
* Strong working knowledge of alarm systems, IP CCTV, and access control systems
* Experience with security platforms (access control and VMS solutions)
* Current QLD Security Licence
* Valid Australian Driver's Licence
* Registered Cabler Licence with appropriate endorsements
* Construction White Card
* Ability to obtain National Police Clearance
Desirable
* Manufacturer certifications in Access Control or IP Video Management Systems
* Experience working with and team on small and large-scale commercial projects
* Networking knowledge related to IP-based security systems
