About the role
Keppel Community Services is a new family run business seeking Disability Support Workers to join our team on a casual basis for upcoming work in the Rockhampton and Yeppoon Regions. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, high-quality care and assistance to individuals with disabilities, empowering them to live independently and achieve their personal goals.
What you'll be doing
1. Providing direct personal care and support to clients with disabilities, including assistance with daily living activities, personal hygiene, and meal preparation.
2. Engaging clients in meaningful activities and outings to promote their social inclusion and community participation.
3. Advocating for clients' rights and supporting them to make informed choices about their care.
4. Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to client care and support.
5. Collaborating with the broader care team to ensure the delivery of coordinated, holistic support.
6. Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and legislative requirements to ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients.
What we're looking for
1. A relevant Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or a related field (Highly Desirable).
2. Experience providing direct care and support to individuals with disabilities or complex needs.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients.
4. A genuine passion for empowering and advocating for people with disabilities.
5. A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to respond effectively to changing client needs.
6. A current First Aid certificate, driver's licence and NDIS Worker Screening Check.

You will have buddy shifts and induction to every site and client, everything expected will be clearly explained and then given to you in writing so there is zero confusion. We are looking to set you up for success! Our OTE casual pay rate is $45.12 per hour with 12% super, Monday to Friday, $100 sleepover allowance with 12% super. Our overtime rates are $60 per hour on a Saturday, $90 on a Sunday and $120 on a public holiday.
