Territory Generation is the largest producer of electricity in the Northern Territory with assets from Alice Springs to Darwin. We use gas, diesel and solar technologies to provide power across the Territory.
As an Operator, you will work shift work as required to achieve effective monitoring of generating plant and associated equipment across the differing technologies.
Your accountabilities include:
* Carry out all duties in accordance with Territory Generation's safety, environmental and quality policies, safety principles, corporate values and strategies. Modelling Territory Generation's values in order to drive a constructive culture.
* Work with the Remote Operations Centre (ROC) to achieve safe & efficient operations of the power station. Operate part (or all) of the power station in local mode when directed by the ROC.
* In conjunction with the Operations Manager South, coordinate the Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) systems and processes to deliver safe access to plant for planned and unplanned maintenance.
* Conduct operations routines & work on the power station, including (but not limited to) routine plant inspections including gas turbines, reciprocating engines and associated plant, including water treatment plant, equipment lubrication, routine tests, identification of plant defects through the business ERP (Pronto).
* Track all of your work hours through associated work orders in the business ERP (Pronto).
* Participate in 24/7 shift roster.
* Direct, undertake or supervise work as necessary to maintain the safety of personnel on the site and to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the power station plant.
Benefits:
In addition to standard pay and conditions, staff working as operators may be eligible for other allowances with a total remuneration package from $184,538 - $218,037, plus opportunity for pay progression, bonuses and training.
Relocation and retention allowance may also be available for the right candidate.
Your skills & experience:
* Demonstrated competence in the area of workplace safety and commitment to safe work practices.
* Relevant AQF Level III Certificate or relevant skills, knowledge and experience.
* Demonstrated understanding and proven experience in contributing to the achievement of a constructive culture.
* Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills which have resulted in effective team membership and contribution to workplace objectives.
* Proven ability to analyse technical systems and assess /report anomalies.
* Well-developed computer literacy.
* Experience with continuous shift work.
Desirable skills & experience:
* Experience in the operation of gas turbines, dual fuel and spark fired reciprocating engines and exposure to defect reporting ensuring that information and accuracy of defect is of a high standard.
* Trade related experience within the power supply industry.
* Experience within a Permit to Work system that ensures safety access to plant.
* AQF Level III Certificate in a Mechanical/Electrical Trade within a relevant industrial environment.
This is a residential role based in Alice Springs. This is a temporary role and requires Australian Citizenship or other eligible visa type valid for 2 years.
