The Queensland Fire Department offers a unique role providing fire prevention, preparedness and response services to fire in the built and landscape environments.
Purpose of the Role:
This position involves high level confidential administration services and business support to meet regional operations, development or emergency operations capability. Responsibilities include setting priorities, monitoring workflows, managing human resource and finance administration, records and database management, medal and award nominations, official functions and diary management as required, ensuring compliance with policy and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide high level administrative support including assisting in preparation, review and coordination of correspondence, reports and materials, secretariat duties as needed, in accordance with departmental requirements.
2. Undertake general office duties, mail distribution, filing, diary control, travel arrangements and functions, maintenance of office equipment and asset records for efficient office management.
3. Coordinate administrative tasks for work unit records, human resource and finance activities, ensuring compliance with departmental policy and procedures.
4. Liaise and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, supporting key processes, procedures and delivery of unit outcomes.
5. Develop, maintain, train and advise on administrative processes, procedures and systems to ensure compliance and quality support services.
6. Prioritize workload effectively, perform duties responsibly in absence of supervision, using initiative to resolve issues and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
7. Support and administer duties during emergencies and disasters requiring short-notice activation and rostering outside business hours.
