Thomas Borthwick and Sons (Australia) is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and driven Electrical Supervisor to join our expanding team. The successful applicant will lead and supervise a team of electricians and electrical technicians, undertaking electrical repairs, general maintenance, and preventative maintenance. The role also involves coordinating subcontractors to ensure smooth daily operations.
The candidate must be electrically qualified in Queensland, capable of supervising and mentoring the electrical team, and ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently in compliance with Australian Standards. Additionally, the role includes assisting in designing and managing electrical system installations, including refrigeration facilities, to minimize downtime in the production area.
What skills are we looking for?
Essential:
* Valid Queensland electrical license
* Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering and/or significant electrical trade experience
* 3+ years' experience in a supervisory or management role
* Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety standards, with a focus on continuous improvement
* Strong understanding of current Australian electrical regulations and legislation
* Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and technical drawings
* Ability to troubleshoot effectively
* Fault finding experience with motor control, power circuits, and VSDs
* Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a positive attitude
Desirable:
It is advantageous if you have experience or knowledge in:
* Refrigeration, wastewater, steam generation, and environmental technology management
* Food manufacturing environment
