Overview
The St Vincent de Paul Society WA — fondly known as Vinnies — provides a hand up to people in need. They are a not-for-profit organisation working toward an Australia transformed by compassion and built on justice, advocating on social issues such as homelessness, poverty and asylum seekers. This is a volunteer role that supports the charitable work funded by Vinnies op-shops.
Responsibilities
* Greet and provide friendly service and assistance to visitors to the Shop.
* Assist in sorting, pricing and ticketing donated items.
* Create visual displays.
* Assist with general housekeeping.
* Operate Point of Sale.
These responsibilities may change or be allocated based on the Shop Manager's direction.

* Professional personal presentation.
There are no essential requirements for this role, as you will be provided with training and support. Skills that might be helpful include organization, creativity, good communication, and experience in a retail environment.
Volunteer commitment and scheduling
Each volunteering shift is a minimum of 4 hours. Frequency is flexible, with Shop Managers happy to work with you to establish a routine that suits your needs.

Commitment: Regular — more than 6 months
Type Of Work: Retail & Sales
Time Required: Each half-day shift is 4 hours. A full-day shift of 7.6 hours is also available. Shift frequency is tailored to the volunteer's needs.
Training: Induction training and ongoing coaching & skills development opportunities will be provided.
