Job Summary
Foster the emotional, developmental, intellectual and physical wellbeing of children in the inpatient and outpatient setting by creating a welcoming and nurturing environment. Demonstrate basic principles of family-centered care and foster positive hospital community relations.
Main Responsibilities:
* Assess children's response to illness, hospitalization and/or treatment.
* Respond to child life orders in a timely manner.
* Implement and enforce hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
* Develop goals for a family service plan based on family, parent, and child assessed needs.
* Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries with all parties at all times.
* Participate in developing standards of performance with department leadership.
* Communicate plan of care with multidisciplinary team members as appropriate.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in child life, child development, psychology, or a related field required; Master's Degree preferred.
* Completion of a 600-hour internship under the supervision of a CCLS.
* Certification from the Child Life Certifying Committee (CLCC) within 1 year of hire.
* 1-2 years of related experience preferred.
