The opportunity
We're seeking a talented and passionate Head Chef to join our team at The Surf Club Palm Cove in the idyllic coastal town of Palm Cove, Queensland. As our Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading and inspiring our kitchen team to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
Key responsibilities
* Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation and service
* Develop and implement creative and innovative menus that showcase the best of local and seasonal produce
* Manage and mentor a team of skilled chefs, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
* Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards, adhering to all relevant regulations and procedures
* Collaborate with the management team to create and execute marketing and promotional strategies
* Manage food and labour costs, ensuring the efficient use of resources and the profitability of the kitchen
* Participate in community events and represent the restaurant at industry functions
What we're looking for
* Extensive experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment
* Proven track record of developing and implementing successful menus that cater to a diverse range of customers
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire your team
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with all stakeholders
* Strong working knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
* Passion for using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients and a commitment to sustainable practices
* Qualifications in culinary arts or a related field are highly desirable
