About the role
In this rewarding role, you'll be supporting clients in Disability and Aged Care services with complex physical and high intensity support needs. You'll provide high intensity disability support, helping them live with dignity, independence, and joy.
This role would suit someone skilled in complex care however not essential if you're someone who believes in having fun, sharing laughs, and building genuine connections with the people you support. You will need to be available for 2 hours shifts some mornings, some evenings and weekends with potential lunch shifts as well. All training provided by our registered nurses.
This role is ideal for people with experience supporting people with complex physical and high intensity support however if you are passionate support worker who is willing; training will be provided. There is potential for this to become a part time role.
Main responsibilities and activities may include:
* Provide a high quality and timely care support to all clients as directed by Home Caring
* Be competent in PEG tube care, including feeding, medication administration, and site maintenance.
* Understanding of medication administration and relevant guidelines.
* Assist clients in carrying out all self-care tasks as required
* Getting out for social engagement, activities and attending appointments (own vehicle essential)
* Assistance with household tasks (may include cleaning, meal preparation)
* Light administrative duties (record maintenance, reporting)
* Document service activities that support service outcomes
Requirements:
* Qualification in Disability, Aged Care or related field
* Professional experience of the NDIS and/or Aged Care sectors.
* Excellent communication skills, commitment to a person-centred focus and flexibility to support needs based on individual circumstances.
* Relevant Worker Screening checks
* Current First Aid certificate and current CPR certificate
* Current Drivers Licence & access to a reliable vehicle
* The right to work in Australia
