About the Role

This is a 12 month fixed term part time role (22.5 hours per week) as a Children’s Contact Service Practitioner based at our Townsville venue.

The position assists with CCS activities, facilitating contact arrangements, supporting children and family members during changeovers or supervised visits, and providing a safe and secure environment for children.

Work days/hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant but may include alternate weekends and evenings with some flexibility.

Responsibilities:

* Facilitate contact arrangements and support children and their families during changeovers or supervised visits.
* Provide a safe and secure environment for children.
* Apply theoretical models of supportive human interaction, developmental stages of children, conflict resolution and other relevant frameworks.
* Undertake assessment and intake processes including parent interviews, case planning and reviews.
* Organise safe and appropriate activities for children to maximise parent/child interaction.
* Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions for parents and children accessing CCS.

About You

To succeed in this role you will need:

* A Bachelor degree in the social or behavioural sciences preferably with a focus on child development.
* Demonstrated experience working with children and their parents/carers and knowledge of child development issues.
* Experience working with people in crisis and/or parents in conflict.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations relating to family law and/or children’s contact issues.
* Ability to work on weekend and evening shifts.
* Possession of or willingness to obtain a First Aid/CPR Certificate.

What We Can Offer

The salary range for this role is $84,000 - $96,000 per annum pro rata plus superannuation, depending on qualifications and experience.
