The Company Our client is a global industry leader in the design and manufacturing of steel bolted storage tanks, servicing a wide range of sectors including Industrial, Mining, Fire Protection, Building Services, Power, Commercial Rainwater Harvesting, Wastewater, and Dairy Effluent. Due to increased project demand, they are seeking both experienced Mechanical Draftsperson and technically minded Mechanical Design Assistant to join their team on a short-term assignment. These roles offer an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced manufacturing environment with potential for extension. What’s on Offer 6-week assignment with potential for ongoing work $47 – $55 per hour super (depending on experience and role) Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm / 5:00pm Immediate start available Supportive and collaborative team environment Hands-on exposure to engineering and design projects About the Role Working closely with the engineering and design team, you will be responsible for supporting mechanical drafting, design documentation, and data management. This role will suit candidates across varying levels of experience, from design support through to advanced drafting. Key Responsibilities Produce and update detailed mechanical drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor Develop 2D drawings and 3D models in line with project requirements Review and interpret technical drawings, documents, and project specifications Assist with managing and maintaining design data, including dimensions and specifications Support engineering teams with drafting, documentation, and coordination tasks Ensure all work complies with relevant Australian/New Zealand standards and codes Maintain accuracy in calculations, technical detailing, and data tracking Utilise Excel for reporting, updates, and documentation support Liaise with internal teams to ensure correct information and specifications are captured About You Mechanical engineering background (degree or relevant industry experience) Experience as a Mechanical Draftsperson or Design Assistant within a manufacturing or engineering environment Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and/or Inventor (3D modelling) Strong understanding of Australian/New Zealand standards and codes Intermediate to advanced Excel skills High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving ability Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment If you’re immediately available and looking for your next contract opportunity within a reputable and established organisation, apply now!
