The Opportunity
Are you passionate about creating safe, engaging and high-quality outdoor spaces for the community? Moonee Valley City Council is seeking a Playspace/Parks Infrastructure Maintenance Officer to join our City Presentation team. This role is essential in maintaining and improving the condition of our playgrounds and associated infrastructure across the municipality.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of playspaces and park infrastructure.
* Address customer requests and ensure timely responses using Council's asset management systems.
* Assist with planning, budgeting and prioritisation of annual maintenance and capital works.
* Supervise and liaise with contractors when required.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance and safety audits.
* Provide informed input into the design and development of new playspaces.
* Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles safely and efficiently.
* Support the broader City Presentation team in developing quality outdoor environments.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will hold a Level 2 Operational Inspection for Playgrounds and possess some understanding of Australian Safety Standards relevant to playspace maintenance (training to be provided if required). A current Victorian Driver's Licence is essential, and experience with asset management systems such as Confirm and CRM is highly desirable. You will have practical experience operating a range of hand and power tools, as well as the ability to assess, prioritise, and undertake maintenance tasks with minimal supervision. Additional qualification such as First Aid Level 1 is desirable.
