Contemporary Catering – Benetas Eaglehawk Aged Care Home

Primary Location: 112 Upper California Gully Rd, California Gully, Bendigo VIC 3556

Other Locations: Frankston, Noble Park

Position: Chef – Full-Time

Salary: $76,000 – $81,000 + Superannuation

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our team at Benetas Eaglehawk Aged Care Home, with opportunities to work across our Frankston and Noble Park sites when required. This role involves preparing nutritious meals, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring high standards of food quality and safety in a professional aged care environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, prepare, and cook a variety of meals tailored to the dietary requirements of aged care residents.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure timely and efficient meal service.
- Supervise, train, and coordinate kitchen staff to maintain food quality and consistency.
- Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory to reduce wastage.
- Develop menus that meet nutritional guidelines and resident preferences.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and workplace health and safety (WHS) policies.
- Inspect ingredients for quality and freshness prior to preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen areas and equipment.
- Liaise with management and aged care staff to accommodate dietary modifications and special requests.

Skills & Experience

- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience as a Chef, preferably in aged care or institutional catering.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, dietary needs, and special meal preparation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a rapid-paced, service-oriented environment.
- A passion for delivering high-quality, nutritious meals.
