About The Role
The Transport Network Operations branch provides high level maintenance, construction and asset management services for road and related infrastructure assets (pavements, bridges, drainage, pathways and street furniture). Continuous performance improvement through leadership and employee engagement is a critical focus of the group.
The Civil Field Worker (Plant) is a hands-on role delivering and maintaining day-to-day plant and operations for civil maintenance and construction tasks.
Key Duties
* Operate and manage plant and equipment such as excavators, front-end loaders, pneumatic tyre tractors with powered attachments, vibrating and pneumatic road rollers, steel-wheeled road rollers, low loaders, and other plant permitted under the Award.
* Assist with labouring tasks including site preparation, material handling, laying pipe and general maintenance to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Maintain equipment and safety standards by following manufacturer guidelines and Council procedures, ensuring machinery is safe and operational.
* Complete daily documentation including timesheets and incident reports in accordance with Council policies.
About You
As a mandatory requirement for this role, you will:
* Hold a 30215 QLD General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) – Blue Card
* Possess a current "C" Class Driver's Licence
* Hold a Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver's Licence
* Have completed a Certificate III in Civil Construction or demonstrate relevant equivalent experience
* Hold relevant licences for operating plant and equipment as outlined in the Key Responsibilities section, where required
Pre-Employment Medical
Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting and bending. Appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
