Assistant Manager, Guest Experience | Burnside (38 hrs/wk)

Summary: The Assistant Manager, Guest Experience is part of the store leadership team, ensuring guests receive a quality experience in our stores every day. Reporting to the Store Manager, this role leads from the floor, builds, manages, and develops team members, and creates an environment where people feel a sense of belonging and have the opportunity to grow.

Core Responsibilities

- Foster a respectful and inclusive team environment and ensure a positive, productive experience for all team members
- Lead from the floor to assess and fulfill business, team, and guest needs
- Engage with team members to demonstrate how their work supports store and company goals
- Implement the Store Manager’s People vision and cascade it using independent judgment
- Manage the store’s hiring process (recruitment, selection, onboarding) to build a strong, diverse team
- Provide training and coaching; identify development needs and leverage existing programs
- Lead performance management, feedback, recognition, and, if necessary, offboarding
- Deliver exceptional guest experiences on the floor and maintain day-to-day store operations
- Address guest feedback and escalations and work to resolve issues
- Monitor performance metrics against goals and close gaps in guest experience
- Manage inventory, product levels, shrinkage, and deliveries in line with visual merchandising
- Oversee accurate inventory processing to sustain operational excellence

Job Requirements

- Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the country of the store
- Travel: Ability to travel to assigned store with reliable transportation

Schedule/Availability

- Full-time position, 38 hours per week
- Roster-based schedule; shifts can vary by store needs
- Shifts: mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- During peak periods or events, early mornings or late nights/overnights may be required

Experience

- 1 year of people management experience
- 1 year of leadership experience managing business operations, administration, and projects

Job Assets (Nice to Have)

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent or above
- Experience:
- 1 year retail or sales-specific management experience
- 1 year recruiting, hiring, or training employees

Work Context

- Work involves moving through a store with bright lights and loud music; may be seated for periods
- Team-based environment; may use computers or other devices
- Ability to move boxes up to 30 lbs (13.6 kg)
