About Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Project (B2N)
John Holland and Seymour Whyte have been engaged to deliver the Beerburrum to Nambour (B2N) Rail Upgrade Stage 1 project. The project is set to increase the capacity and reliability of the North Coast Line, enabling more efficient travel and improved passenger and freight connections between Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, Brisbane and beyond. As construction of B2N gets underway, John Holland is actively looking for a Project Engineer to join the team and play a key role in the successful delivery of this iconic Sunshine Coast project.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, program workloads and provide technical and administrative guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved.
* Play a key role in the accurate forecasting of costs and revenue.
* Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards of supplier/subcontractor quotations and purchase orders.
* Participate in planning future requirements including machine tools, ancillary equipment, major plant and labour.
* Review design and construction plans, schedules, and method statements to ensure constructability.
* Monitor project progress against the programme and budget.
* Effectively assign tasks to project team members to deliver the requirement outputs to agreed specifications.
* Prepare accurate project reports.
Key Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ideally civil, or a similar discipline).
* 3-4 years experience, ideally working with a principal contractor on a large‐scale transport or infrastructure construction project (bridges, highways, railway, tunnels, etc.).
* Leadership ability to provide mentorship to direct reports.
* Demonstrated commercial experience to include planning and reporting on progress, cost and risk.
* Knowledge of civil construction standards, codes and regulations.
* Demonstrated personal commitment to health and safety.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
