Patrick Street Clinic is a well-established medium-sized practice that has previously been awarded AGPAL Tasmanian Practice of the Year, RACGP Tasmanian Practice of the Year and has been finalist in the Central Coast Business Awards in Professional Service.
The Position
Patrick Street Clinic is a privately owned and operated group practice requiring the services of two full-time or part-time GPs to help meet demand. The practice has a strong training focus and welcomes enquiries from vocationally recognised GPs who have an interest in providing support to students, registrars and International Medical Graduates.
Opening hours are from 8.30 am – 5.30 pm Monday to Friday and alternate weekend on-call clinics from 9.00 am – 12.00 noon. The doctors work at mutually agreed individual consulting hours with standard appointments 15 minutes long. After hours is shared with the other general practice in town, and uses the GP Assist triage service. This results in a very light on-call work load.
The practice is AGPAL accredited and offers a mixture of private and bulk billing.
Skills and Experience required:
* Current AHPRA registration or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
* Previous GP experience of at least one year, either in Australia or overseas
The Organisation
Patrick Street Clinic operates from two locations on the scenic North West coast of Tasmania. The main practice is based in Ulverstone (a town of over 15,000 people) and there is a branch practice 15 minutes away in Penguin (population of around 4,000).
The Ulverstone practice is a modern purpose-built facility with 11 well equipped consulting rooms and a clinical area consisting of a theatre, treatment room and emergency room. It also has a spacious training room with a large smart TV.
A mixture of 15 full-time and part-time GPs and 3 GP registrars currently work across the two practices, supported by a dedicated team of 8 nurses, a diabetic educator and 13 administration staff. Software used is Best Practice.
A full range of GP services is provided, including travel medicine, diabetes and asthma clinics, immunisation clinics, wound care, telehealth consultations, child and adolescent mental health, dermatology and plastic surgery.
Visiting specialists at Ulverstone include a cardiologist and an orthotist. Allied health services include on-site physiotherapy with a gym and rehab facility and a diabetic educator in the Ulverstone clinic.

The practice is offering employment with a base salary of $113,896.
