We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our high-performing Service team in Cairns at our Component Rebuild Centre. In this role, you will coordinate service and repair activities while delivering exceptional customer service. Working closely with customers, technicians, and internal stakeholders, you’ll help ensure every job is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
This is a permanent, Monday‑to‑Friday position offering stability and the opportunity to be part of a supportive and professional team.

What you’ll be doing:
As a Service Advisor at Hastings Deering, you will:
* Act as the primary customer contact – handle all service and repair enquiries with professionalism and clarity.
* Provide accurate documentation – prepare precise service quotations, estimates, and job cards to support smooth workflow.
* Coordinate efficiently – manage communication and job flow between customers and workshop technicians.
* Monitor job status – track progress and deliver timely updates to customers throughout the service process.
* Manage WIP effectively – oversee work‑in‑progress and ensure all invoicing is completed accurately and on time.
* Promote service value – identify and recommend additional service opportunities and value‑added solutions.
* Maintain strong internal relationships – collaborate closely with parts, operations, and other teams to support successful outcomes.
* Ensure compliance – uphold safety and quality standards across all service activities.
What you’ll need:
A successful teammate will have experience in:
* Demonstrated industry experience – background in Service Advisor, Service Administration, or similar roles, ideally within heavy equipment, automotive, or mining sectors.
* Customer-oriented communicator – highly developed verbal and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service and proven ability to build relationships.
* Mechanical understanding – sound mechanical aptitude and an advantage in diesel or heavy‑equipment knowledge.
* High attention to detail – strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks accurately.
* Collaborative mindset – able to work effectively within a team environment to achieve shared outcomes.
* Proficient system skills – intermediate computer capability, including experience using service management systems.
* Thrives under pressure – able to perform in a fast-paced environment and consistently deliver on expectations.
