What you'll be doing :
The primary purpose of the role is to develop appropriate knowledge and technical skills to fulfill the requirements of the RCPA for training in Anatomical Pathology and to become a competent consultant Anatomical Pathologist; and to fulfill the service requirements of the department.
We are currently recruiting for roles in the laboratories listed above. Candidates who are found appointable via this recruitment process, but not successful for the listed roles, may be offered placement on an eligibility list. Candidates on this list may be offered an Anatomical Pathology Trainee role in other locations if vacancies arise throughout the remainder of this clinical year.
All laboratories participating in the Anatomical Pathology Training Program are accredited by the RCPA for specialist Anatomical Pathology training. They perform a wide range of diagnostic services, with some also supporting smaller suburban and rural hospitals within their network.
Positions across the State-wide Anatomical Pathology Training Program are networked, with many at larger 'anchor' laboratories rotating with partner labs on a 6-month basis.

Minimum Requirements :
* MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
* Evidence of general registration and 24 months of clinical experience OR hold a Specialist International Medical Graduate determination issued by the RCPA.
* Demonstrated vocational interest in Anatomical Pathology through specific examples (e.g., previous employment, training, research, sitting Basic Pathological Sciences exam, or attendance at relevant conferences).
* Understanding of the daily duties and career path of an Anatomical Pathology Trainee (e.g., laboratory visits, discussions with trainees and consultants, exploring RCPA and NSW Health Pathology websites).
* Participation in quality improvement initiatives relevant to Anatomical Pathology.
* Experience working in multidisciplinary teams, with a focus on patient care and adherence to the NSW Health Code of Conduct.
