The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking Commercial Manager, Prison Industries to provide a critical role within Corrections Victoria.
About the Business Unit
The Offender Services and Reintegration division of Corrections Victoria (CV) is responsible for providing best practice interventions which aim to reduce the risk of reoffending including case management, education, training and employment, prison industries and rehabilitation and reintegration supports. The division contributes to a safer community by supporting a safe and humane corrections system that provides opportunities for rehabilitation, supports reintegration and works toward Aboriginal self-determination.
Corrections Victoria Prison Industries (CVPI) operates over 65 individual industries across 13 sites to provide people in prison with a variety of employment, training and learning opportunities, while also aiming to deliver value for the public through goods and services provided to both private customers and internal customers - both prisons and government. Prison Industries is a growing enterprise delivering both commercial and rehabilitation outcomes, with expansion of rehabilitation focused initiatives funded by increased margins and profitability.
About the Role
The Commercial Manager leads the Commercial Services team and ensures the growth of the business through effective interface with existing and new customers, and markets.
**Some of your duties will include**:
- As a member of the Senior Management Team, engage in the implementation, monitoring and modification of the Prison Industries Strategic Plan
- Manage the delivery against the performance targets set for all commercial activities/commodities
- Manage, provide leadership and support to the Commercial Services Team which includes undertaking all operational functions including recruitment, professional supervision/coaching, PDP processes and provision of feedback and guidance

- Demonstrated experience and achievement in a commercial customer/marketing-oriented environment
- Demonstrated experience in a senior management role, leading diverse teams within a complex operating environment
- Demonstrated success in influencing and engaging with a broad range of stakeholders to achieve strategic outcomes within a matrix management environment.
**Qualifications**:
- An appropriate tertiary qualification in Business Management or related business discipline is highly desirable.
