The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) is seeking a Director to join the Senior Curriculum and Assessment Implementation Branch on a fixed-term temporary basis. This role leads learning area units that implement and manage senior syllabus and support for internal assessment quality assurance and development of high-quality external assessment instruments.
What You Will Do
Provide strategies and expert advice to the Executive Director, Curriculum Services Division and other senior management regarding the implementation of policies and strategic plans involving curriculum, syllabuses, standards, assessment, moderation and the processes leading to senior certification.
Provide strategic leadership, direction and management of the implementation of the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) that encourages quality management practices, continuous improvement, innovation, cooperation and collaboration.
Direct and supervise work of a large team including learning area managers, principal education officers, and senior education officers in delivering and evaluating activities associated with implementation of high-quality curriculum and assessment products and services.
Lead and direct efficient and effective use of branch human, physical and financial resources within budget allocations and delegations.
Oversee a stakeholder engagement strategy to support the continuous improvement of curriculum and assessment implementation products and services.
Maintain and promote an environment of cooperative endeavour and partnership with schools and relevant stakeholders to support effective implementation of senior curriculum and assessment products.
Establish and maintain strategic, consultative networks across QCAA, the broader education community, peak advisory groups and subject associations, other statutory authorities and community groups.
Liaise with schools and employing authorities on the implementation of senior curriculum and assessment products and determine any assistance and support that may be required.
Prepare, coordinate and present submissions, policy responses, speeches, briefings and responses to sensitive correspondence.
Monitor national and international initiatives concerning curriculum, learning, assessment and reporting and provide policy advice to the Executive Director, Curriculum Services Division.
Lead and model a change management and performance development culture by participating in regular two-way feedback discussions with your supervisor, colleagues, direct reports and other branch staff members.
