Lead Strategic Advisory Committee
Job Description:
The Lead of the Fire Rescue Victoria Strategic Advisory Committee is a public entity established under the Fire Rescue Victoria Act 1954. The Committee provides expert advice to Fire Rescue Victoria on various organisational matters, including cultural change, workforce diversity and flexibility, organisational governance, engagement with the broader emergency management sector, and future direction.
As Chairperson, you will lead the Committee in delivering strategic focus as outlined in the Committee's Terms of Reference. This includes contributing to Committee meetings, maintaining integrity and good governance principles, and providing advice to help Fire Rescue Victoria build its relationship with Government and other key stakeholders.
You will have a proven record in providing considered advice for senior leaders in government on organisational matters, advocacy, partnerships and strategy. Your expertise should align with Fire Rescue Victoria's Strategic Pillars, as outlined in the Fire Rescue Victoria Strategic Plan 2022-2032, and the Committee's Strategic Focus.
* Deliver expert and authoritative advice on organisational matters to Fire Rescue Victoria
* Deliver the Committee's strategic focus as outlined in the Committee's Terms of Reference
* Contribute to the Committee meetings, including maintaining integrity and good governance principles
* Provide advice to help Fire Rescue Victoria build its relationship with Government, and other key stakeholders, to help progress Fire Rescue Victoria's objectives
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Candidates should possess skills in at least two or more of the following areas:
* Strategic and ethical leadership demonstrated through public sector governance, board experience, and/or public administration
* Emergency management / Emergency Service Organisations
* Government Relations – Change and Advocacy
* Matters that affect the future of the service (outside of culture) - financial sustainability, organisational change in the industrial landscape including staff retention, emerging technologies
* Regulations / Built Environment
* Community and stakeholder engagement
