You will be part of a highly creative and efficient multi-discipline BIM design team, tasked with designing challenging and complex projects with innovative solutions for Amazon-owned data center facilities. You will support the Central Engineering Team through the preparation of architectural and structural BIM models and leveraging BIM data. Your responsibilities include designing the exterior envelope, interior architecture, furniture, finishes and equipment, site planning, space planning, life safety, structural systems, and building code compliance. You will produce and maintain architectural drawing sets for our fleet of data centers.
Day in the Life
As a designer, you collaborate across disciplines and teams to refine data center designs. Your work includes creating detailed models, drawings, specifications, prototypes, and communicating changes to managers and leaders. You engage in design discussions, review feedback, and adjust designs to ensure our solutions meet the highest standards of efficiency and quality.
In this role, you receive coaching and guidance from experienced managers and leaders who help develop your technical and professional skills. You are expected to proactively seek feedback, participate in regular check‐ins, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining open communication with all stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Design architectural systems of data centers and use Revit to create and maintain BIM models.
* Manage Master Architectural Model files, ensuring precise coordination and alignment with MEP, structural, and other discipline models.
* Prepare and develop detailed architectural Revit models and documentation.
* Communicate with external vendors to ensure design documentation complies with code requirements for specific regions.
* Prepare masterplan site layouts for efficient design of future data center sites.
* Review models developed by external vendors to ensure compliance with BIM standards.
* Identify potential design improvements and efficiencies in conjunction with other disciplines.
* Develop and publish construction documentation for architectural building system designs in a fast‐paced environment to meet deliverables.
* Update and modify existing models, studies, and construction documents as required.
* Assist with creating and maintaining BIM templates and enforce BIM standards.
* Develop standardized architectural details and custom solutions that align with company standards and project requirements.
* Participate in design coordination meetings with other trades for clash detection and resolution.
* Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations.
* Assist the project team with information exchange processes between internal and external customers.
* Provide coordination support for information requests during construction phases.
* Guide internal teams and external partners on Common Data Environment (CDE) protocols and Amazon Web Services (AWS) workflows, ensuring seamless collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
* Record and report key metrics to management.

Basic Qualifications
* 5+ years of architectural design experience on mission‐critical facilities.
* 4+ years' experience using Revit for producing architectural BIM models and construction drawings.
* Practical knowledge and understanding of building codes and safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
* Experience directly related to data center design and construction.
* Experience applying Lean principles to design modeling and drawing production.
* Experience observing construction, familiar with construction technology and practices.
* Experience driving a team to implement new BIM tools, procedures, and best practices.
* Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Dynamo, RF Tools, CTC Tools, Smartsheet, and Procore.
* Familiarity with the BIMForum LOD specification and best practices for BIM collaboration.
