We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of the mechanical design of centrifugal and axial fans and their associated components. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring structural integrity, performance, safety, and efficiency, while adhering to diverse client specifications and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop 2D and 3D CAD drawings for client approvals and fabrication.
* Design fan systems with focus on performance, vibration, noise, thermal management, safety, and material selection.
* Liaise with internal teams (sales, production, quality, and project) to resolve design/manufacturing challenges.
* Prepare components for laser and plasma cutting.
* Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
* Assist in the development of CAD libraries, QA documentation, and calculation tools.
* Support the sales team during the tender process.
* Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and fan performance testing to relevant standards.
* Create detailed technical reports and documentation.
* Perform inspections of fabrication/assembly drawings as required.
* Attend occasional site visits for installation, commissioning, or inspections.
* Work within and contribute to the company's Quality Management System.
Requirements
* A relevant engineering qualification and/or significant industry experience.
* Proficiency in 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks).
* A strong understanding of OH&S practices.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
