We are seeking a proactive and reliable Maintenance Officer to join our dedicated team at Iona College Geelong. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys supporting a vibrant school community.
About the Role
The Maintenance Officer plays a key role in ensuring the school grounds, buildings, and facilities are safe, functional, and well-presented. The position involves a variety of hands-on tasks including general repairs, preventative maintenance, assisting with events, and liaising with contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs across school facilities, classrooms, and grounds.
- Conduct regular safety and compliance checks.
- Assist with the set-up and pack-down of school events and functions.
- Work with external contractors and service providers when required.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are well maintained.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
About You
- Previous experience in building/grounds maintenance, trades, or a similar role.
- Strong practical skills in a range of areas such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, or gardening.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to supporting the values and ethos of the school community.
- A current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
