Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, this role is responsible for directing, planning, monitoring and controlling all aspects of the financial operations, to achieve optimum financial success and meet strategic business objectives.This role will be based out of our Osborne Shipyard office in SA.We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia such as a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.Key responsibilities include:Be the Finance representative/Business Partner for the Program Managers and their lead team within their ProgramLeading a group of professional staff to ensure they provide a quality service that meets specified accounting and reporting requirements in a timely and efficient manner.Prepare and present monthly results, rolling forecasts, Contract Schedule Reviews (CSR's), risk and opportunity reports, cash flow projections and other relevant information at Business Unit Reviews (BURs), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and other forums as appropriateEnsure new business opportunities, tenders for work and investment/CAPEX proposals carry financial integrity and are prepared in accordance with all corporate governance requirementsCoordinate the preparation of Integrated Business Plan (IBP) and annual budgets for relevant areas and manage the consolidation and presentation of the plan for the entire businessProvide financial and management accounting advice, direction and decision support to the business unit, line of business, Project Accountants and Project Managers in the achievement of business objectives.Ensure sound cash management including rolling cash forecasts, f/x management and guaranteesManaging all financial aspects of the line(s) of business in compliance with the company's financial controls as set out in the Operational Framework, as well as legislative and statutory accounting requirements and group Finance policiesAbout YOUDegree qualification as well as professional CA, CIMA or CPA qualificationPrevious professional and project accounting experience including people managementExcellent knowledge of budgeting and cost analysis, as well as a strong understanding of financial and management accounting practicesUp to date knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)Ability work collaboratively and maintain active internal and external network of business partners and peersWorking knowledge of Cost/Schedule Control (Earned Value) principles and practicesAbility to develop and work with complex financial modelsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced skills in MS Office skills and financial packagesPrevious experience in a large project environment (desirable)Eligibility for a Negative Vetting Level 1 Defence security clearanceInternational Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this roleWe believe in hiring for potential, we know that some candidates hesitate if they don't tick all the boxes.
