We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the **** school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Kondinin Primary School (PS) is a small, inspiring and community-minded school with a diverse student population, and our school services the families that live within the town and on surrounding farms. The Role
Suitable applicants will assist teaching staff in the delivery of planned education programmes and in promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students. They will provide feedback on education and therapy programmes, participate in the evaluation of student progress, and support the general health and wellbeing of students. The role requires engaging with children exhibiting challenging behaviours.
Applicants should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, collaborate well with teachers to create and maintain supportive education programmes, and utilise evidence-based techniques for learning and behaviour. Experience or knowledge of disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder is desirable. Applicants must be able to work under general supervision, provide advice and expertise, and collaborate with the school community to support student achievement.

Eligibility
Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start.
Consent to obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.

Demonstrated good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact with students with special needs, parents, and teaching professionals on the provision of educational programmes, and to assist teachers in understanding students where necessary.
Demonstrated good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team in the evaluation of educational programmes, including special education and therapy programmes where these have been implemented.
Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programmes to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing education programmes, including special education and, if required, occupational and/or physiotherapy programmes.
Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
