Painting & Decorating Apprenticeships – Multiple Locations Across Brisbane & Surrounds
Are you looking to start or continue your career in the painting and decorating trade? We are currently seeking motivated individuals from 1st through to 4th year to join a number of established painting crews across Brisbane.
Whether you're just beginning your apprenticeship or looking to return after time out of trade, these roles offer hands‐on experience, structured training, and the opportunity to develop skills that will support a long-term, rewarding career in the industry.
Our available positions cover a wide variety of residential and commercial projects, giving you the chance to learn high-quality workmanship, surface preparation, finishing techniques, repainting, new builds, and decorative finishes while completing your Certificate III in Painting & Decorating.

We have multiple apprenticeship openings across:
* Enoggera, QLD
* Mount Gravatt, QLD
* Ipswich, QLD
* Brisbane, QLD (Various Locations)
These locations offer exposure to diverse job sites including new homes, renovations, commercial spaces, schools, and repaints — ensuring a strong variety of experience throughout your apprenticeship.
What You'll Be Doing:
As a painting and decorating apprentice, your responsibilities may include:
* Assisting with preparation of surfaces (filling, sanding, patching, gapping)
* Applying undercoats, primers, and finishing coats
* Cutting in, rolling walls and ceilings, and brushing trims
* Working with both water-based and oil-based products
* Using painting tools and equipment safely and effectively
* Setting up and protecting job areas, including drop sheets and masking
* Cleaning tools and maintaining a tidy work environment
* Learning colour matching, decorative techniques, and quality finishing standards
You'll work alongside qualified tradespeople who will support your development and help you build strong foundational skills.
Requirements for All Positions:
We welcome applicants from 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year, as well as those who have been out of trade and wish to return.
To be successful, you will need:
* A genuine interest in painting and decorating
* White Card (or willingness to obtain)
* Driver licence and reliable vehicle
* Good attention to detail and pride in your work
* Ability to work on ladders, roofs, and uneven surfaces
* Willingness to perform physical tasks, including lifting and repetitive movements
* Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
* Reliability and punctuality
* Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all conditions
Experience in painting, labouring, construction, or use of hand tools is highly regarded but not essential for junior applicants.
