About the role

The Carer Recruitment and Development Support Worker works within MacKillop's Foster Care Development team. The position's main responsibilities are to support the recruitment and retention of carers across WA. This includes marketing and attraction activities, child safety compliance and carer support and development. The Carer Recruitment and Development Support Worker reports to the Manager WA/NT and will work collaboratively with the WA out of home care program.

The Carer Recruitment and Development Support Worker will:

* Assist in the development and implementation of a clear strategic plan to attract, recruit, develop and retain foster carers.
* Support carer compliance systems to ensure MacKillop is working effectively and strictly adhered to the recruitment and authorisation process.
* Actively work with the Foster Care teams to ensure compliance is maintained and meets MacKillop and Department of Communities Standards.
* Support development of and implementation of carer training and assessments including initial information exchange, and probity screenings.
* Ensure the maintenance of Family Journey (MacKillop's CMS) to ensure all carer activity can be regularly monitored and analysed.

This role is a Full-Time position Based in West Perth, WA. This position sits within our Foster Care Development Team and reports to the Manager WA/NT

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.
* Experience in out of home care and demonstrated understanding of OOHC policy and practice.
* Demonstrated skills and experience in administration, coordination, project planning, event planning, and/or marketing.
* Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team of multi-disciplinary professional staff.
* A sound professional knowledge and theory base particularly in the areas of trauma, attachment, and therapeutic care.
* An ability to adhere to deadlines and meet performance measures while working under pressure (exceptional organisational and administrative skills).

You must have a:

* Valid and current Driver's Licence;
* Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
* Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
* Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles). MacKillop can assist successful candidates with their application.
